Post Treatment Instructions

Unfortunately, some times young children will bite and chew on their numb lip after a dental appointment. If this happens to your child, you may see swelling and a redish-white area of traumatized tissue.

Treatment recommendations include

• cold pack on the lip for 10 minutes, repeat 2-3 time with 20 minute break between applications (try a popsicle).
• Children's Tylenol or Children's Motrin as needed.
• Bland soft diet for 3-5 days.

Children will usually heal quickly, it will take about a week for the traumatized tissue to completely heal.
